At Amentum, we celebrate our people and our cultures, and we recognize the value of diversity and inclusion. For February, we’ll reflect on what Black History Month means to all of us while shining a light on one employee at a time. Amentum’s next spotlight is on, Michael Early, Program Manager, Consolidated Facilities Operations and Maintenance (CFOAM), National Security.
How did you come to join Amentum?
I accepted a job with Amentum in 2015 after being with Parsons for six years.
What is your professional and personal background?
I am a graduate of Norfolk State Univ (B.S.) and Duquesne Univ (M.S). I have spent most of my career in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) as well as Customer Service-based roles. I’m currently a Program Manager on a Supply Chain/Logistics Contract, CFOAM. I spent 12 years on the Base Operations Services East (BOS-E) Contract, and two years on Facilities Renovation and Maintenance Enterprise (FRAME). Before I began my career in the Government Contracting world, I spent four years in the National Football League as an Offensive Lineman, playing for the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, and the Baltimore Ravens. I am also a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.
Currently, I oversee the Supply Chain and Warehouse area of the CFOAM contract. We assist our customer in the ability to deliver items to mission-critical locations all over the world.
What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?
Some of my accomplishments include:
- Maintaining a 98% average customer service approval rating for over 10 years as the Workforce Support Center Manager.
- Maintaining a 99% Warehouse Inventory accuracy rate for three years straight as a PM.
- Working with a team to create a Building Operations Center (BOC) on a new contract.

What do you enjoy about working for Amentum?
The people, both onsite and in the corporate office! I love my leadership group. They are very supportive, and knowledgeable, and most of all, they care about people on a personal level!
What are you passionate about?
I am very passionate about charity work. I support several organizations working to improve our community in the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area.
What’s your career advice?
I would say, put blinders on and run your race! Don’t worry about anyone else around you. Know what path you want to travel and work towards that no matter how long it takes you to get there. Just focus on improving yourself. One of my favorite scriptures is Ecclesiastes 9:11 (NLT) “I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.”
What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?
As a manager, safety means getting employees home safely. Ensuring the work environment is safe and they’re able to return home to their family without injuries.
What’s the best invention in the world and why?
I would say the airplane. It gives people the ability to go anywhere in the world within hours!
