Expertise in safety case management, environmental and radiological consultancy, and health physics are combined with our core engineering and materials science capabilities to deliver an unrelenting safety ethos in the management of radioactive waste.  

We apply strategies to minimize waste volumes requiring final disposal and we implement innovative decommissioning and decontamination processes for clients around the world.  U.K. clients including Sellafield Ltd, Magnox Ltd and Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd. 

Amentum’s team of 100 radioactive waste management specialists is responsible for compiling the UK’s radioactive waste inventory and advises the UK government’s Nuclear Waste Services organization on major projects including the proposed Geological Disposal Facility. Amentum also operates a cobalt-60 gamma irradiation facility at Harwell, Oxfordshire, supporting our ability to provide world-class consultancy on the effects of radiation. 

As an HSE-approved Corporate Radiation Protection Adviser body in the UK, our radiological support to industrial and nuclear sectors includes:
