Amentum Raises $238K in 2021 Charity Golf Tournament

TAPS golf tournament Vollmer TexasFor the third year, Amentum has partnered with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) for the Journey of Hope Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, November 4 at Bridlewood Golf Club in Flower Mound, Texas. A total of $238,600 dollars was raised for TAPS with donations from tournament sponsorships and raffles.

TAPS President and Founder Bonnie Carroll was on hand greeting the players.

“We are so grateful to have the support of Amentum for the families of America’s fallen military and the contractors who support them,” said Bonnie. “I was excited to return to Texas for the Journey of Hope Charity Golf Tournament, and we are filled with gratitude for the partnership we share to care for families who are grieving the loss of a brave contractor.”

The tournament, held previously under Amentum’s legacy company, had 28 teamsTAPS golf tournament participating for first, second, third, and fourth place winner as well as women’s and men’s longest drives and closest to the pin competitions.

“It was a great day out on the golf course, and I would like to thank the many generous sponsors who made this day possible despite not being able to host the event last year due to the pandemic,” said Amentum CEO John Vollmer. “We surpassed 2019’s incredible fundraising total by $23K – of which 100 percent is invested in critical resources and services to support military and contractor families who have lost a loved one.”

“A big thank you to our Amentum suppliers and partners whose generosity helped sponsor the tournament and to the players who purchased raffle tickets and mulligans,” said Billy Harlin, VP Procurement and Supply Chain. “Their support will help provide grieving families of fallen military the opportunity to heal through the many services provided by TAPS.”

TAPS and Amentum

TAPS has supported many Amentum legacy families since 2010, and in 2014, Amentum’s legacy company became the first private company to form an official partnership with TAPS to provide support to families of fallen personnel. Through this agreement, TAPS and Amentum work together to provide surviving family members comfort and care through comprehensive services and programs including peer-based emotional support, case work assistance, connections to community-based care, and grief and trauma resources.
