How did you come to join Amentum?
I joined Amentum under its legacy company DI in 2008 after graduating from the University of North Texas.
What is your professional and personal background?
I am a mother, a Veteran and a Security Professional.
Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.
I am responsible for ensuring all facilities maintain a strong Industrial Security Program to assure our continued ability to win classified contracts.
What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?
I am a certified Industrial Security Professional (ISP) and have 4 consecutive Superior ratings on DCSA Vulnerability Assessments. I have succeeded in a world of contract change.
What do you enjoy about working for Amentum?
I enjoy meeting new people. I also enjoy feeling like I am a part of an organization that is making a difference in this challenging world.
How did your military service prepare you for a successful career at Amentum?
My experience in the military has assisted me with the understanding of our global footprint and helped me be cognizant of cultural differences in the areas of responsibility we operate.
What are you passionate about?
I enjoy bass fishing, dancing, reading, and watching movies.
What’s your career advice?
Always do your best and learn from your mistakes. Never quit chasing your dreams.
What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?
Safety for me means doing what I need to do to ensure I go home to my family.
What’s the best invention in the world and why?
The coffee maker – couldn’t do my day without coffee.
What does this year’s IWD theme, #BreakTheBias mean to you?
It means recognizing that everyone plays a role in breaking the bias, and as women, we need to encourage other women and not feed any negative stereotyping.
