Amentum becomes Diamond Level Sponsor of the STS Certification
Amentum is proud to have achieved Diamond-level sponsorship of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) program. More than 1,035 active Amentum employees have achieved the STS and STSC certifications respectively – nearly 20 percent of all STS certified professionals and the most of any organization. Safety may not be a primary duty for all the Amentum managers and supervisors who achieve this certification, but their knowledge of safety practices ensures safer and healthier worksites. This added competency strengthens the Amentum safety foundation, which is our key leading indicator for operational performance and enables a culture of quality, integrity, and achievement.
The benefits of the STS certification are far-reaching. “In addition to improved safety performance, we have proven that STS certification is also a leading indicator for operational discipline,” said Jeff Treffinger, Amentum’s Senior Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) & Quality. “Projects with supervisors and managers holding the STS certification experience improved injury performance and better financial performance and customer satisfaction. Simply put, our projects are more successful when managers and supervisors are STS certified.”
