How did you come to join Amentum?
I joined Amentum through legacy DynCorp over 12 years ago as a contractor and feel fortunate to be part of the Amentum team.
What is your professional and personal background?
Prior to finding my passion in international trade, I held positions as a procurement professional and international sales representative.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Program Management and Supply Chain.
Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.
As a Senior Manager in International Trade Compliance, I am responsible for the compliance activities of Amentum’s business groups, manage the compliance activities for international operations, as well as implement processes, procedures, and systems to meet compliance activities and reporting requirements.
My team and I impact the overall company by ensuring we comply with the global regulations that surround trading activities, and the export and import of products, services, and technology.
What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?
I am proud to be a part of a robust team with experience from all aspects of the defense service industry. My pride is to perform my job in an ethical and professional manner day in and day out and provide the company and my colleagues the level of service, time and dedication required to be the best in the industry.
What do you enjoy about working for Amentum?
Without a doubt, I enjoy working for a company that puts in practice their core values, has strong leadership in place with expertise and knowledge that helps others advance, and the willingness everyone has to collaborate to get the job done, regardless of time or distance.
What are you passionate about?
From a professional perspective, I am passionate about making a positive impact on my team. From a personal perspective, I am passionate about running.
What’s your career advice?
Never stop learning. The most powerful thing in any circumstance is knowledge. Always deliver what is promised.
What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?
There is safety as it relates to work, and personal safety in ensuring we do not get injured or endanger our lives. There is also safety from a legal standpoint where we need to act in a manner to ensure we do not put the company at risk.
What’s the best invention in the world and why?
The internet as it has taken communication to the next level. We can communicate across the world with almost no delay, and it allows us to have resources right at our fingertips.
What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you?
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate not just food, music, and culture, but also to celebrate the accomplishments of those before us and give importance to ethnicity, background, and heritage. Whether your roots are from Mexico, Spain, Colombia, or other parts of Latin America, it is an honor to embrace the different cultures during this time.
