Russell Schneiter

Amentum is shining a spotlight on the dedicated individuals who serve in the intelligence community. They play a vital role in safeguarding our nation’s security and dedicate their careers to gathering, analyzing, interpreting information to provide critical insights at the highest levels of government. Using innovative technologies and methodologies with strong collaboration they stay ahead of evolving threats that could impact our security. We thank them for their service and appreciate their efforts to protect our freedom. Our next spotlight is on Russell Schneiter, Program Manager, Intelligence, National Security.

What is your professional and personal background?

My professional background is from the Environmental, Safety and Health field. After 20 years of working in EHS at various locations, I was offered an opportunity to manage infrastructure support programs. I have taken opportunities in different locations and was able to enjoy overseas opportunities in the United Kingdom and in Australia.

What is your role at Amentum?

I am currently the program manager of Base Operations Support East contract, for the National Geospatial Agency in Springfield, Virginia.

Describe a typical workday at Amentum for you (Day in The Life):

My day begins with the operations meeting, where we review issues from the previous day and night and plan our actions for the upcoming day. Afterwards, I tackle my email inbox, identifying and resolving any customer or Amentum issues. Once my inbox is clear, I meet with each section manager to discuss issues. Finally, I walk through the facility, engaging with government customers and Amentum employees.

What do you enjoy about working for Amentum and what do you find most rewarding about supporting the Intelligence Community?

I find the opportunities at Amentum amazing. We operate globally, and if you want to take on a challenge in a different part of the world, you can do it. I have supported the Intelligence Community for 31 years. It is incredible to be aware of what is happening in the world and to know that our work contributes to the safety and security of the United States.
