Red Cross Thanks DI for Supporting Western Wildfire Relief Efforts
Earlier this year, DI responded to the thousands of people in northern California impacted by the devastating wildfires by donating to the American Red Cross. People affected by these fires have been out of their homes for months and for some, the fires have taken everything.
In a December update, the Red Cross reported that California residents have already suffered through the states most destructive wildfire season on record, and it’s not over yet. More than 4 million acres have burned – doubling the state’s annual average. To date, the Red Cross has delivered more than 900K meals and snacks, more than 382K overnight stays in emergency lodgings, more than 57K relief items distributed and individual care contacts made to the impacted region.
“DynCorp International’s partnership allows the Red Cross to stand with wildfire survivors in the weeks and months ahead and help them become more resilient against future disasters,” said the American Red Cross sr. officer for corporate partnerships. “On behalf of those we serve, thank you for standing with us.”
The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, please visit redcross.org.
