McLean, VA – (March 24, 2020) – The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island issued a $4.5 million contract modification under DynCorp International’s (DI) Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP IV). DI will provide Life Support Areas (LSA) for the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to support a mandatory 14-day quarantine of paratroopers returning from a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan. DI is currently providing temporary camps complete with boxed meals, showers, laundry operations and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Wi-Fi capabilities – all designed to foster a more pleasant quarantine experience.
DI’s LOGCAP IV team is performing similar services to support quarantine requirements at Fort Bliss, Texas under an additional contract modification valued at $37 million. Additional change orders are anticipated for several other U.S. military installations.
Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division are one of the first large groups of military personnel returning home since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Less than four days ago they walked the location and it was just rock, and now we have the ability to house 600 paratroopers,” said Deputy Commanding General David Doyle, who recently visited one of the facilities.
“We are proud of our ability to meet the military’s immediate needs and to provide returning soldiers with a more pleasant experience in these difficult times,” said Rob Tillery, DI’s LOGCAP IV senior vice president of Operations.
LOGCAP is a Department of Army regulatory program providing a broad range of contracted logistics and support services to augment U.S. and allied forces.
