Amentum’s engineers and project managers are key to the design, building and maintenance of the shore facilities need to keep a navy at sea. We also support defense manufacturers to improve and maintain the shipyards where new surface ships and submarines are built. Amentum’s maritime engineering and naval architecture expertise is deployed on projects ranging from piers, wharves, berthing and docking structures to operational naval bases and military manufacturing and assembly facilities. Supporting the Ministry Of Defence and its prime contractors on the UK’s naval shipbuilding program, our assignments include the full suite of portfolio program and project management, naval architecture, detailed design work, mechanical engineering/power and propulsion, electrical , systems engineering, requirements and acceptance, combat system integration, configuration management and product lifecycle management. Our extensive technical capabilities cover stress and vulnerability, data marking and data transfer, seismic design and analysis, quay structures, floating docks, ship lifts, berths, jetties and dock gates. We are designing and managing a £1 billion Site Redevelopment Programme, including upgrades to conventional and nuclear infrastructure at one of the UK’s key naval shipyards, including the ship lift and transfer system, nuclear prime build capabilities, the central stores, a new steam generation facility, and non-nuclear fabrication areas.
